we’re not putting up with Old Man Winter
don’t bother hanging up that mistletoe
pack it in the trunk with all our presents and a sleigh
forget that old snow shovel, ‘cause we’re leavin’ here today

had enough of roasting all these chestnuts,
don’t want Jack Frost nipping at our toes
Père Noël won’t tease ya down in Old French Polynesia
it’s a sleigh ride in Bora Bora

we’ll be drinking “Bloody Mary”s in the sunshine on the beach
eating poi and hoping we’re not outside Santa’s reach
swimming with the fishies in the ocean blue and green
far from shopping malls and traffic jams and credit card machines

we’ll still find a way to have our Christmas
stringing leis on palm trees by the sea
tie this rope around the sleigh, help me hitch it to the boat
we don’t need no reindeer, and we sure don’t need no snow
we’ll turn this Bali Hai into a Bali Ho-Ho-Ho

hate to leave the gorgeous South Pacific
can’t imagine all the cold back home
Winter in the tropics, so sublime and so serene
let’s start planning now for Easter Island come next spring

one more holiday in romantic paradise
dancing to the drums beneath the stars
you’ll always be my sweetie while we’re sailing ‘round Tahiti
